Order of inspection
U0404 Invalid Data Received From Gear Shift Control Module Medium
The U0404 code means the gear shift module is sending messages, but with data that does not make sense or is out of range. The transmission may not recognize the gear you selected. The module is often just passing along a bad reading from one of its own sensors.
